How does extra progesterone after a miscarriage make a woman "more fertile"?

I've read a woman is more fertile after a miscarriage due to the extra progesterone in her body, but how does that make a woman more fertile? Does it allow the sperm to live longer? Does it make it easier for the sperm to reach the egg, if so how? Does it make implantation more likely? Just trying to understand how it increases fertility. Thanks!

Im not for sure how that works exactly, but a girl that i work w/, were really close, she had a miscarriage of twins about a month or so ago, and she found out just last night that she was pregnant.  The thing is is she was having slight trouble getting pregnant.  She has one child,,,who will soon be two.

Taking progesterone before you ovulate is not going to make you more fertile. It's likely to make you less fertile because it makes the cervical mucus thicker, preventing the sperm from getting inside the uterus.

progesterone is the hormone that causes your uterus lining to become thick, the thicker your lining is the easier it is for the egg and sperm to plant.
