  1. Every time you eat something it is because someone on a farm or in a garden produced it.  Without farmers as a source of food we would all either starve or have to start producing our food supply ourselves.

If you are doing this for "homework" ask you teacher where their food came from.

  2. It provides food we need to eat.

  4. Farming creats jobs for men and women.  It helps feed the Nations, cloth the nations, gives us beauty to see, gives us a relaxing sceenery as we drive on our hiways. If it wasn't for the farmers we would not be able to set the next meal on our table. All our food comes from one form or another of farming.  yet the farmer is going broke and getting less and less each year.

  5. Farming feeds us, but inorganic farms use pesticides, fungicides, fertilizers and herbicides, which have been known to cause cancer and birth defects. Eating local foods cut down on pollution and fossil fuel consumption due to the short shipping distance. Some farms are not up to standard, being that Field workers and animals use the area for a restroom, which can cause different kinds of severe food poisoning. The government requires bathrooms and most have them now. Farming also effects our economy. Some people say that the illegals are taking all the jobs, but who would do what they do for that price. Any American would demand better pay. If we did start only hiring U.S. citizens, the price of produce would go through the roof.

  6. Food, Fiber, Shelter.

  7. I'd say todays American farmers feel used and abused.  No sooner than a great spike in the markets came in 2007, input costs have increased 20-50% all the way accross the board.  Why do we continue to grind away if not for more profit?  The risk has been frontloaded entirely upon us with the funds in the market or the shareholders in the corporations as the only true winner.  I am a farmer and I think the greatest thing to occur is to be mass starvation around the globe.  Maybe then people might recognize our sweat blood and toil put into making sure this country is well fed, or even fat.
