ice melts:

-polar bears have to swim for distances to find stable land, and often drown.

-polar bears usually make homes in tunnels of the snow for their young.

- it would be hard to hunt/eat seals when they dont have a stable land to eat it on.

-their furs are extremely thick already, and is meant for the cold, imagine wearing a fur coat in summer.

-less snow/ice also means less camouflage, which also makes it harder to hunt.

Global warming is causing polar ice to melt more each summer.  That means polar bears have to spend more time looking for seals.  It also means seals have fewer places to pull out.  Polar bear do not eat just seals though.  They actually will eat anything they can capture.  They do eat a lot of fish.

To date there has NOT been a verified die off of polar bear.  You people are reacting to one film that showed a polar death.  Unfortunately the people making the film blamed global warming.  Fact is nobody knows what cause that death.  Polar bear are doing just fine.  Yes their population is stress, but they are fine.

There have been 4 Ice Ages and associated warming periods in North America within the last million years.  The polar bear has survived each one.  They will survive this one as well.

Please folks, get informed.  If you are depending the news media and those terrible nature shows for your information, you are NOT informed.
