  1. You have this concept of global warming all wrong in your head....get it from the title, "GOBAL Warming"

    It affects everywhere equally....

  2. I live near you, Half Moon Bay to be exact. I have lived here for about 40 years and I can say that it is definitely warmer and less foggy than it used to be. Is that global warming? That is hard to say.

There was a study of marine life in the Monterrey Bay. It was a followup population study that had been done a few decades earlier. They found that populations of organisms appeared to be moving north. Interesting, that is what you would expect if the ocean were warming.

I have heard reports of plants blooming and fruiting earlier and birds migrating sooner in the spring and later in the fall.

Snow fall in the Sierras seems to be less reliable than 30-40 years ago. Since much of the Bay Area gets its water from Hetch Hetchy snow runoff our water supply is becoming less reliable too.

The impacts are subtle but real at this point. One very interesting thing to look at is where the shoreline is after a 1 foot and 3 food sea level rise. Much of the interior of the Bay is at or below those levels so I expect if I were to live long enough to see a fair amount of flooding over the next 50-100 years.

I am not sure why the GW naysayers are so willing to gamble with our children's future. They would be smart to study up from real scientists rather than oil lobbyists and science fiction writers.

Here is an interesting factoid for the naysayers. Which is the only major scientific group to reject the finding of human influence on recent climate? Before you answer think who would most benefit from this stance.

The answer is the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG)

  3. Everything cause the liberals live there.
