  1. It is a fab place for little ones to learn to take orders, have fun and fit into a routine.  A great start into school.  I don't  see how it can help physically!

  2. Physical development varies by the child.  But as far as emotional goes, it has to be linked to Cognitive (mental) development in the sense that children learn and discover things in childcare.  They talk to, play, and learn with other children and come to decide what they like and don't like.  They start to discover themselves and thus start the process of defining their emotions.

*Then again, if we're talking physical, Preschool outside (recess) time can be an aid in Childhood Obesity.  In North Carolina, where I live, the state requires by law that we take children outside, everyday (weather permitting).  If your teachers are skilled enough to plan activities outside of swinging on swings... but are more geared to running or anything that helps keep the body healthy, then you can count it to Physical development.

  3. 85% of a child's brain development occurs before they are 5 years old. A quality preschool should help your child to develop physically with lots of chances to use their fine motor skills (writing, drawing, stringing beads, etc.) as well as their gross motor skills (jumping, running, dancing...) A child should be nurtured emotionally as well. It is good for children to know that there is a variety of people who love and care for them. They will make friends and learn how to get along and solve problems.  Good quality childcare is an essential part of a child's upbringing.

  4. The very best preschool ever, is Headstart.  It teaches  every thing going as other preschools do.  The Best part is the teacher coming to your home to teach YOU, the mother or grandparent how to do homework and help in other ways with your child. It makes you all become closer.  It really helps you learn so much about things you thought you already knew about, like the best foods for your child, things to tell the doctor on your visits, you can join the parent group, and they really do appreciate anything you volunteer to do.  It's a wonderful place for you and your little one.
