the classes and year groups are different in america and ive always wanted to know how i works because my couisn is 16 in november and thats her year 11 and thats when she takes her GCSE's what is the american equivalent?

  1. High school in America has four years 9-12.

    9 is called Freshman year

    10 is called Sophomore year

    11 junior year

    12 senior year

    She is going to be a sophomore and she will take a high school exit exam (HSEE). I live in the state of California so we call it CASHEE for California high school exit exam.
