There are so many ways.  Engineers always want to reduce the effect their projects have on the enviroment if its products that pollute less, to new ways to control pollution emissions, to storm water recycling, to almost anything.

yes, it ain't ez being green....LOL

but seriously, look at the changes the engineering field had to make to itself from about 1880 to present. the turn of the last century was engineering and industrialization unleashed, no rules. as new technology makes the scene and as "being green" is more popular, the engineering field has to make harder choices to balance what is good for the customer and what is good for the planet(by law).
