How does he pick that lock like that?

Question

O.K. So Many times I will be in the bathroom taking a shower and my dad will need his eye solution stuff. I always shout to wait until I'm done in the shower. Seconds after I say this, he's usually got the door unlocked and is grabbing his solution.

Things I do know:

- The lock is a real one.

- Creditcard trick doesn't work.

- There is a little hole in the center of the k**b on the side he is on.

- He does it within 10 seconds.

- He doesn't make any noise.

- He doesn't show any signs of fourced entry.

What I don't know:

- How he does it

So is there something with that hole that I am missnig? Like is there something I have to stick in there to open the door when it's locked?

(I will block anyone that says "That's what she said.")

There are keys for those types of locks.

If you don't have a key, a small skinny screwdriver will work just as well.

Put it into the hole and turn it, it should go to the left.

Well, I'm not sure what type of lock it is, but the little hole thing sounds a lot like the bathroom lock at my house, except the hole is next to the k**b instead of on it.  How do you lock it on your side?  Is there a button you press in?

If so, here's how I know mine works:  If you look into the hole on the outside, there's a small slit inside, something a flathead screwdriver could fit into.  Better yet, take a paper clip, and bend it so that the small loop sticks out.  Press the loop into the slit and turn it.  The lock should pop open.

If that didn't work, find out if your house came with emergency keys for such locks.  If you saw the key, you could probably tell how the lock works.  (My key just looks like a big 'L' that you insert and twist, so it wasn't hard to figure out what was happening there)

Last resort, upload a picture of the lock from both sides, someone should be able to recognize how it works.

My friend has a lock like that. There is a little key that can be used to open the door. He is most likely hiding the key from you and not telling you there is one. Otherwise, i have no freakin clue!
