How does high school work in America?

I just came back from the Philippines and I'm really confused on how high school works. Its a lot different there. I'm going to be entering my first year in high school as a Sophomore and I'll have no idea what's going on.

Most high schools in america are grades 9-12.  Usually you will be given an ID card on the first day along with a list of your classes.  Just follow your schedule and you will be fine.  The first day or two is usually just an intro to the class and getting to know the teacher.  Don't worry to much about it you will be fine.
