How does horoscope works?

I understand the part about your horoscope, but I don't understand the moon and sun or the planet signs. What are they for? And how do you figure out yours?

You need your date of birth, time and place of birth. The sun will indicate your individuality, your ego, whereas the Moon describes your personality.
