How does increasing light intensity effect the light dependant stage of photosynthesis?

  1. Increased light intensity brings more and higher energy photons to the photosystems. The photosystems absorb these photons which excites electrons. These electrons are then added to NAD and the plant acquires reducing potential to be used in creating sugars during the light independent stage of photosynthesis. Higher intensity means more reducing power which results in more sugars being produced.
