How does insurance with L platers work?

I am a 16 year old L plate driver. My mother is insured comprehensively with NRMA and wants to know where she stands when it comes to insurance while I'm driving.

every insurance company in australia has different clauses and exclusions as to what they will and won't cover.

an insurer i used to work for allowed L plate drivers to learn to drive, but if they crashed, it was deemed as though the adult was driving and in control.

best to ring nrma though, as your mum might have conditions on her policy like "no insurance cover for people under 30" or something like that.
