How does internet browsers affect your actual internet speed? L?

Like browsers say some are faster than others. But if you have the same internet speed all the time, how do the browsers have anything to do with it?

It depends on a few things. The extras and plugins etc. If it has to load a bunch of other stuff at the same time its gonna slow it down. I try to keep the extras to a minimum. Try google chrome. It just came out in beta but its pretty clean. Loads a page lickity split. Theres no java plugin yet but they will have one in the next few days

it's efficiency with the processor and with ram, not with the connection speed

i just downloaded google chrome and it is seriously the fastest web browser i've seen (it's going very very efficient on the processor and on the ram)

Well, let's make a comparison between Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Internet Explorer will take longer to load because it has to load all the extra features and security settings. And for Firefox, I think you can customize it so it only loads the stuff you want it to load.

Plus, I think Internet Explorer uses more memory, thus affecting the speed, based on how the program was written. It might not be the internet speed that is making the difference, but the amount of data that your browser loads that makes the difference.

So if you use a browser that loads only the very most basic stuff and nothing else, it will load faster.
