  1. There's only a 24% chance of having twins with in vitro.

Here's how it works--RE does special test.  RE prescribes birth control for 3 weeks.  You have af.  On cycle day 3, you give yourself shots (usually one in am and one in pm).  You will go in every 2-3 days for a sonogram andblood work to measure the eggs, your lining and to make sure the ovaries are not overstimulated (which can be serious).  At some point the RE will have you inject another medicine every day until the egg(s) have reached a certain size.  You will be told to stop all other meds but the inhibitor and told to give yourself an hcg shot.  The hcg finishes the egg maturity.  You'll go in the next day and be put into a ttwilightsleep.  The RE aspirates the eggs with a needle going through the v****a.  You go home.  The eggs are fertilized then watched and graded.  The healthy eggs are then ttransferredinto your tube (usually 2 for young women and 3 for older women) and the others frozen, donated or destroyed.  You begin progesterone (shots are the best but painful) 3 days later.  You go in for a beta pregnancy test in 12 days after transfer.

  2. you can find more info here: http://www.fertilityties.com/post/search... and also ask fertility specialists online for free for advice and find many women who have gone through ivf, try fertilityties.com

in a nutshell, a doctor retrieves your eggs and them gets a sperm sample from your partner, then an embryo is created and it's inserted back to you for a pregnancy :)

    good luck!!
