How does ipod touch connect to wifi?

If, for example, I can connect to my university wireless Internet, but it requires a username and password to be inputted, can I do so on the ipod touch? or am I only able to connect to Internet on ipod touch if it is an unsecured wireless network?

  1. The iPod Touch can connect to any wireless network, secure or unsecure. If you try to connect to a secure network, it will simply ask you for a username and password.


  2. Yes, you can enter a username and password. 3G iPhones use 3G, while the older ones use EDGE network. iPod Touches just use WiFi.

  3. you can access any wireless connection that is PROTECTED, if you know the password to access it.Or if a connection is not protected then all you have to do is go to settings,wifi settings and when you search if the connection, if it does not have a lock, all you have to do is choose it from the list that appears and if you're connected,a checkmark appears,then go to Safari and there you go!

  4. yes. if i remember, mine broke :[ not because of this, there was an inside crack.
