  1. me and my husband all ways drive i think its beautiful how you get to see so many things on the way we live in Colorado and have driven all the way to California my husband never stops only to fill the car up with gas but other than that we don't stop we take almost 18 hours depending on how fast you go i would recommend that if your going alone and at night then stop somewhere to rest or take someone with you so that person would talk to you all the way . but since this is all so your first time you might want to drive in the day because keeping your eye open for six hours is hard if you feel like your eyes are tired of just looking forward then rest for a wile it will help you allot and also drink heavy coffee or take some good Cd's or do what my husband does he takes a bottle of water and every time we would get tired or feel sleepy he would spray some of the water on his face any ways good look and i hope this helps.

  2. It's a real drag. You need to stop every hour or two because no one can sit that long. It's bad for your circulation. You can also fall asleep at the wheel, especially if you start out tired. Also, when you fly, you just sit there and don't think. When you drive for that long, you have to be alert all the time. It's very fatiguing.

  3. Depends. I have a Jeep and the seats are nice, I can go for about 11 hours before having to stop for the night. The key is to stop every two hours or so and take a walk around a parking lot. And if you start to feel sleepy stop and take a nap in a rest area. I do not know about the East Coast but here in Oregon most people drive 90 min to get to work where I am from, so 6 hours isn't a huge thing over here.

But stop and stretch....Know your body....And be careful!

  4. I drive for a living and enjoy driving long stretches of time. the key is about 3 hours into the drive, get out and walk around a bit and get the blood flowing again. I enjoy the serenity of being out on the road and watching the scenery pass by.

  5. Actually it's pretty nice and relaxing.

Just put on some music that you enjoy and go.

Enjoy the scenery and just make sure you drive safe. Enjoy :O)

  6. Well, it is actually pretty good. But it really depends on what you drive. If you drive in some dump car don't do it. But if your car is fairly new and runs well and is comfortable I would drive the 6 hours.

  7. well, if you are not used to driving for long distances, I'd say take a lot of rest stops... when I moved from Mich to Va, I drove 10 hours straight... it was h**l!!  you have to keep the radio on, window cracked open and make sure you got enough sleep the day before.  even if you don't physically feel tired, your body is being stressed a lot, you need something to keep your mind off the road just enough not to get entranced by the lines on the road... I did that once, and almost got in a major wreck.

take it easy and be safe.

  8. I drive for 8 hours a day for work and it sucks. You just get used to it my friend. I drive to Mass to see my bf and that's a 4-5 hour drive and it's pretty easy. It depends on your route, traffic, weather and the condition of the car you are driving. When I had the rental car with my cd's and a tank of gas it went like butter. It all depends really. Take little stops and use the restroom and get a snack if you feel tired. I am sure you will do fine. ;)
