How does it take to learn bbj or mauy thai?

muay thai will probably take a month or so of training and sparring regularly. bjj will take longer because there are so many moves and techniques. a few months in bjj and you will be proficient against most guys that do it.

That depends on several factors. One being if you've had any previous experience with martial arts, also how fast you learn, the instructor(s) (how much they know and how well they teach), etc.

If you go frequently (should be at least 3-5 days/week), I'd say roughly 2-3 months just to get a rudimentary understanding (meaning you know the basics). It takes years to get really good at it.  But like I said there are several factors involved, it might take some people almost no time at all and it might time some a long time to grasp it.
