  1. No. An anaconda could not swallow a cow. They are capable of eating fairly large food items, such as capybara and even caiman, but a cow is out of the question.

  2. No, although a python did eat an alligator in Florida and then have it's stomach rupture.  Here's the link

  3. though an Anaconda does have a thick skin, it (and the insides) can be ripped.  Though I do not know the certain story that you are talking about, I do know that other snakes can puncture themselves if they do not swallow correctly.  I was watching A documentary and the snake had to regurgitate  a horned toad that went down the wrong way.

  4. a cow would be impossible due to its bone structure and size.

but just recently i've seen a video on myspace of a snake (not sure what kind) that ate a wild bore.  the snake died because the food he just ate (huge bore) blocked it's lungs.  people found the snake later on and cut the skin open to see what it had eaten.

  5. first is that anaconda cant swallow a cow, because the volume or the diameter of the cow is too large and the muscles of  any kind of snakes are highly elastic, still it cannot be stretched for more then 4.5 times of its original size. second, the characteristics of snake skin are such that it cannot burst due to its elastic properties.
