  1. Let us say Canadian mom gives birth in the US. The child will be american because of the birth on US soil AND Canadian because of his mother. The child can have dual nationalities.**

  4. If both parents are Cdn it is a lot easier - the kid has dual citzenship - assuming the other nation allows it -

    If the kid has only one parent that is Cdn the same thing happens but the paper work becomes more intense -

  5. Every country has its own nationality laws.  A few allow automatic citizenship to those born there, but most do not.  On the other hand, citizenship by blood, from a parent, nearly always applies.  

    So in answer to your question, the Canadian's child will acquire Canadian citizenship from one or both parents.  Whether the child will also acquire the citizenship of the country where he or she is born depends on that country's laws.  Since you haven't mentioned what country that might be, here is a place to look them all up and find out for yourself:
