  1. The group or coterie has a mission. You become subject to the pressures of following the agenda. Your identity as an individual gets skewed with the group identity.

  2. ROFLMAO   One would NOT include AA on a CV...LOLOL

If we desire the acceptance of a "group" of people, we may alter the way we think or behave in order to "fit it".  If this change suits us, we generally feel accepted and comfortable.  For example, if I want to become a really good public speaker, I may join Toastmasters in order to learn the ropes and practice.  I begin to identify with members of this group because it is important to me to be a good speaker and these people are "pros" or learning, as I am.  It feels good to be a part of a group...we have a need to belong, as humans and I can advance my cause or become a better speaker.  What changed? Prior to wanting to become a better speaker, I never even considered joining Toastmasters.  Once I realized my desire, my mind became open to joining this group.

  3. somthing like a pressure group (AA or smthing like that) can be shown on your CV as your profile, and with u supporting them they can pressure the goverment into doing things to help yur group, numbers mean power, but im probaly WAY off lol

  4. It makes them feel that they are part of something good. such as a family to them. They may display new actions then they would be around their own family.
