How does laminate wood flooring look compared to real wood flooring?

I'm thinking of a dark wood for a small bedroom and was wondering about the appearance of a cheaper wood laminate flooring? cement base flooring.

Similar, but you can tell immediately when you walk on it!

laminate wood flooring is a cheaper route to go, but in my opinion it definately looks cheaper, and you can feel the difference when walking on it.  laminate has a hollow sound to it when walked over, because generally it isn't glued down at all; it's just interlocked into one another, whereas real wood is glued to the slab/underlayment.  if you can afford it, go with the real wood.  you'll enjoy it more in the long run, and the resell value of your house will be more as well.  good luck!

It looks fake.

Bedroom floors don't get allot of wear, so unless you have animals to scratch it up wood would be so much better. Or even carpet. Concrete floors are cold.

I guess if your looking for a quick, cheap fix and are thinking those pre-glued tiles, it could be better than nothing. They are pretty easy to remove when the $ comes around to do it right.

Yep, I agree. But it's so easy to put down and care for-much better than real wood. Be aware-dark colors show dust...a lot!
