  5. "Land" is from the Old English "lond", meaning ground or soil.  This is from the Proto-Germanic"landom", which got it from  Proto-Indo-European (5500 years ago) "lendh-".

    "Water" is from Old English "wæter", from Proto-Germanic "watar", from Proto-Indo-European "wodor", from old Sanskrit "udnah" or "unda".
