Question:

How does lemon freeze beer?

I had a bottle of beer in the freezer for about 20 mins.

When i put a slice of lemon into the bottle, the beer began to freeze- how/why did this happen???

Does anybody know?

  1. because its just so cool to put a lemon in your beer.

  3. Two theories...either the introduction of an acid had a chemical reaction with the alcohol and the water present in the beer, or the lemon and water found in the lemon have a higher freezing point than the beer/alcohol itself.
