  1. Sudden exposures to light can effect our body's sleeping clock mechanism (the regulator which tells us when to wake up, and when to go to bed). A disturbance in the chemical balance could end up in some resulting minimal extra brain activity which may interfere with our sleep waves.

The chemical change, depending on strength, I'm guessing could probably -if strong enough- bolt us out of one pattern or another of sleep, either lowering our dream phase strength or maybe acting similar to adrenaline to fuel or dreams and do the opposite.

Some individuals are more sensitive to light when sleeping or first waking then others. Bipolar individuals in particular. Perhaps if a study were conducted it would show also that these light sensitive individuals experience more dream interruption or rapidity w/ increased exposure to light (as usually light is a positive stimulus & creates a response - and usually an irritated one).

I'm assuming if light exposure to sensitive individuals would cause excellerations in body measurements, it must cause excellerations in dream processes (speed, vividness, detail, etc).

    Just a guess.
