How does losing your virginity affect your emotions?

The down-sides of sexual activity is mostly thought of as pregnancy and STD's (When the topic is directed at young adults).

However, teens are not informed as much about the emotional side effects.

So here is my question:

How did you react (emotionally) after having s*x for the first time? About yourself, about your partner, and anything else?

What emotional effects would you warn a young adult about before they have s*x for the first time?

I would appreciate male and female input please. Thank you. =)

  1. it varies from person to person, but generally i'd say there is a sincere emotional attachment to the person you lose your virginity to, and it changes your perception of yourself.

  2. Yikes! well when i lost my virginity I was 18 years old, and I thought i was ready but it seems like i wasn't i ready perhaps because it was with the wrong person or it was out of curiosity!! I felt used and physically in pain( o yeah it hurts) but past that I advice young people to wait until they feel emotionally ready and it's because your in love with someone and not curiosity like mine was.So basically think twice before taking the next step!

  3. I was always pretty mature, and I wouldn't say i was "ready", as i just lost it to a firend kind of spur of the moment. I didnt thnk about it before hand and i didn't really have any emotional consequences. It wasn't like i was working up to it, or waiting, i just figured when it was time it was time. And then it was time and then it was over. It WAS a little awkward the next day as I worked with the guy and I think a couple people knew... .

However, I'm not a very emotional person about anything. I'm move of a "**** happens, move on" type of person. I rarely cry (except occasionally during pms)... even with guy issues i hardly ever cry.

    But everyone is different.

I guess just make sure you're doing it for the right reasons with the right person (if you're not like me and will think about it later)..

    PS. I was 17 (like 17 and 4 months) at that time. i'm now 19.5 y/o...

Oh, and i didn't really feel any differnt about myself. I guess i didnt feel like it changed anything. But thats my mentality. s*x is natural and normal. As long as you're safe about it, the only things that changes is that his p***s has now been in her v****a. s*x is kinda funny if you think about it. You make funny noises. You do funny things. Its as natural as anything so its censored much more than it should be.

  4. when I was a teenager I didn't care about any thing except me and my desires and am glad I am a guy as I would have been a **** as a girl
