  1. It dulls the viewer and they become completely desensitized!

I usually asks who's karma are you looking at?  The actors, directors, TV channel, or yours?  Karma is the bill being presented at the end.... of the performance.  To pay....! Or be paid!

    Peace.

  2. It all stems from the simple concept of "Monkey see, monkey do."   Sad to say, but the vast majority of the people in the world, who have more intelligence than monkeys, don't use their brains any more than they feel they have to.  As a result, they often mimic what they see.  It's hard to conceive of anything like Columbine happening in the days when "Leave It to Beaver" or "Happy Days" ruled the airwaves.

As for the distinction between real-world violence and fictional violence, it's a toss-up.  We're bombarded from all sides with violence on TV, and not everyone distinguishes between real world violence and fictional violence.  The bad thing is fictional violence is often more graphic than real-world violence.  If you watch CNN when they're doing a story about a suicide bomber in Iraq, you see the aftermath -- people being hauled away in ambulances or people lying dead in the streets.  If you watch movies you actually see people getting shot or blown up, complete with blood spray and body parts flying in every different direction.  One could easily make an argument that fictional violence is worse...

  3. Sadly to say, TV violence can

    be a step-by-step guide to

    the horrible incidences like

    at Columbine and Littleton.

    TV violence has more of

    an impact.  Specific details,

    graphics, aren't shown by

    the media, usually.

    It's, always, best to be

    a leader not follower.

    Be an example of the

    positive.
