  1. Hi everyone!

I can help answer some of your questions.

My senator introduced  a medical  cannabis Bill   "Ohio Senate BILL 343". so this question I will have to answer alot over the next 6 months.

I am a domestic violence survivor  with domestic violence induced scholosis ( my spine just moves around ) and I also have a  crippling terminal disease which causes alot of spasms and pain. among other debilitating conditions.

I refuse to become  dependent  on narcotics for the pain I suffer with on a daily basis. My doctors agree cannabis is the safest medicine for me.

So I am trying to change the law I am forced to break .....because  of medical cannabis I can  live independantly and  do so with diginity.

If I was on  narcotics ... Id be strug out, homeless probably .

It takes everything I have to  just do day to day stuff on my own.  because of my challenges already . I couldnt  do it wasted..

So I use cannabis as my pain medicine and antiinflamitory.

  2. Here is a list of all the problems they have tried to solve with med mj.  From cancer pain to MS . and one of the best effects  med mj can have in any terminal illness is to produce a degree of euphoria which boosts morale in a depressing situation.

  3. It's just a painkiller.  It works by bonding to cannibinoid receptors in the brain and inducing chemicals that cause the high. The only practical application I've ever heard for it is cancer.

  4. It can be used as an apetite stimulant (instead of steroids..  I dont know all the jargon for why, but thc makes you munchy).  It can be used as a pain reliever and short term anti anxiety.  It can be used as a nausea med.

And for me personally, yes it helps.  Ther first meds I was given were morphine, oxy, ativan, xanax, steroids, compazine, emend, phenegran among a couple others.  They are all addictive, and make me incredably drowsy.  THC does the same thing, without putting me to sleep, and without the addiction issues.

However, it does pose risks.  Long term use will cause depression.  Smoke of any kind will damage the lungs and enough of it will cause copd.

And, since it is not processed, it contains bacteria and fungi naturally, and probably some sort of chemical fertalizer or pesticide.  For the healthy person, thats really no big deal.  But for cancer patients, or anyone with a lowered immune system, the patient can actually contract massive infections that can ultimatly be fatal.  While I used during cancer treatment, I was on large prophlactic doses of anti biotics and anti fungals.

The gov and FDA both recognize the medicinal qualities, as they have a legal synthetic thc rx, marinol.  It costs about 10-20x the approximate equivalent of real mj on the street.  But it is pure thc and is dose regulated, where as real mj is not.
