usually humans take (=mining) from environment and give back trash and dangerous stuffs (toxic, trash).

depends what type of mining pit mining destroys large area of habitat and leaves pools of toxic mineral filled water after but it can all be covered back up again afterwards and shaft mining leaves large piles of often toxin slag to deal with.
