  1. Well where are you from? if you are from North America then it is just like here very civilized. Talk to your doctor and I think you will need some shots for travel. You might want to think about travel insurance too, if you get hurt or sick it could cost you a lot. To become a citizen, good luck get married to someone or live there for 7 years, work and then apply. But a visa depending on what country you are from, if you are from a very civilized country you can get a visa when you arrive in Australia for 90days. Then to work you must apply as soon as you get there it might take sometime to get a work Visa. Renting a place is the same as renting a place in north america, rent, damage deposit. But you are young a male and people do not like to rent to young men.

About scams though there is not many there. I have been to 30 countries and it is the poor countries you must watch your as$. Australia is a developed country so bring a lot of money. It could cost you up to 2500$/month if you are not working. To stay for cheap go to hostelworld.com and make your own food. As for your age just be smart.

  2. Visiting Australia for a short time is easy: you simply need to get a passport and tourist visa which allows you to stay (without working) for 3 months and longer in some circumstances.

Coming here to live and eventually becoming a citizen is another matter entirely. Australian immigration is restricted to people with skills, qualifications and experience in occupations in which workers are in short supply in Australia. At your age, it will be virtually impossible for you to qualify.

If you come from one of a list of countries (see link), you may be able to come for a 12 month working holiday, but beyond that if you wish to stay here, you must be qualified in a required occupation or you must be a student.

  3. well to like "live" there you have got to go and see your "counsil" kinda thing, you have to get a visa to go to another country and you have got to have somewhere ready to live and some kind of way of bringing in money over thre (a job) if you have a criminal record then they ill ot be able to go and "live" thre, sometimes the people that run the country you are going to, might not like the sound of you and say that they do not want you in there country, and if you have any exsperiance with being around bomb etc. they will not let you in.

  4. You can contact the local embassy or you can go on line to research government laws about citizenship and whether or not you will need a job there, how much money, a work visa, green card, a place to live, and so forth. Each place has their own laws and it can become very overwhelming, so be sure to research everything from how to get a car, to how to establish credit over there, to how to get your water turned on in your new place. Everywhere operates so differently from the states in certain ways of laws...it can becomes quite confusing. Best of luck on your move!

  5. It is easy to get a visa to visit Australia, but very difficult to get a visa to stay here - you need a permanent resident visa, for this you will need a university degree, or to be married to an Australian. For visa information see www.immi.gov.au.

Obviously you will also need a passport.
