How does my Oyster card work on the tube?

I'm going to Camden Town from Morden station on Sunday and I'm a bit confused to how the Oyster system works on it. I use it reguarly on the bus in the mornings.

The FareFinder site says that it is £2. Is that £2 either way?

Eep.

How does it work, start to finish?

I would put £6 on the card cause with oyster, you will never pay more than a day pass. I believe that the day pass is £5.30

So, if you only put £5, you will short 0.30 and you might have to pay the cash fare...and at £4 a single tube trip...you don t want to do that :)

  2. Yes, all Oyster fares are one way so it is £2 each way.

  3. There's an oyster card reader just like on the bus at the gate at the tube station.  Touch your card on it and the gates open.  You have to do it again at the station where you get off.  Oyster works out the cheapest fare for all your journeys for the day and charges you for the total.
