  1. she's lucky

sooner or later she will get caught though

  2. sooner or later she will get caught

look at winona ryder she got caught!

and you ask why prices in store are so high> its because of your friend

the shoplifter  the store lose money on those and they have make it by charging higher prices so the next you want to buy something and find the price was higher then the last time you can thank your friend for that!

    shopping lifting is a crime

you say you dont want to get involved if the police every found you knew

about you yourself could be arrested as an accesssoy after the fact since you knew she was doing and didnt do anything to stop the crime

  3. Trust me she will get caught, i use to work retail so i can tell you she will in time. she has just been lucky up till now. but you need to sit her down and tell her it will come back to bite her, and when it does she will pay dearly. 1000s in fines and maybe jail time and her name in the paper. if you are her friend you will sit her down and tell her what i said. she will get caught, they always do. its just the way it is. and if she has a job they will fire her and she will have a real hard time getting another one. we all pay for shoplifiting and its just wrong , tell her she can laugh about it now, but when she gets caught it wont be funny then. i went through this with my son, and its not funny. and please please tell her its not worth it. if she is a minor tell her , when she gets caught her parents are gonna also be the ones that pay. and for gosh sakes if she is stealing from walmart best to stop her, they will run you into the ground. trust me on this get her to stop anyway possible before its too late.

  4. I know people like that too

I have always wondered how(Idon't want to do it)

but it seems amazing that they repeatedly get away with it

in a few days they have whole wardrobes....

  5. She will get caught eventually.  I hope you're not with her when this happens.  You need to choose your friends more carefully.  Hanging out with criminals is a good way to ruin your life.

  6. It is ilegal to monitor changing rooms, so as long as the friend doesn't do anything obviously illegal, theres not too much anyone can do about it.

Even if a store suspects someone of stealing, they are so fearful of a lawsuit that they wont try and stop you from leaving the store unless they actually see you steal. Like I said, they can't monitor dressing rooms, so if that's where the friend is stealing at, noone can see so they have no right to stop the stealer.

There have been people who have purposely acted like they were shoplifting, just so they could be stopped and questioned. When they are found to not have any of the store's items in their possesion, they sue the store. For that reason, most stores will not do or say anything to you, even if they believe you are shoplifting, unless they can prove it through eyewitness or video surveillence, neither of which is present in the dressing room.

The store's security may follow you and yell "stop" at you, because most people will stop when asked. If you don't stop, though, store security has no right to forcibly restrain you. They will put their hands on your shoulders and walk with you, giving you the impression that you are under arrest or that you have to go with them, but if you simply keep walking they can't stop you. Most habitual shoplifters have learned these lessons in the past, and they use them to their advantage until they get so cocky that they attempt to steal outside of the dressing room or leave evidence of their theft behind. That's when they get arrested.

I am by no means condoning this behavior. They all get comfortable and they all get caught, eventully. Just stating the facts as I know them.
