How does my motorcycle club make money?

we r considering a fundraisering event 4 my motor cycle club...ie a basketball game against local radio dj's

Sell food and drink at the game.  Concession stands are big business, you will need volunteers for the concession stand.

If the DJs will actually show up you on the right track. How about cycle rally better than the usual bar hopping poker run. I have gotten so I will not attend a cross town poker run. If there is a well known scenic ride have the ride there. OK maybe one stop for a drink..........  whats wrong with this picture, drink and ride? Drink when the bikes are parked not before.

A raffle will make money but all members have to hustle and that rarely happens. Hold a nice ride of 125 miles, scenic, with a bar B Que at the end. Then have the usual contests, tattoo, wet T shirt, forearm measurement (max diameter). He man contest where the contestant stands up against a wall and spreads his arms straight out, finger tip to finger tip is measured. Simple stuff works and is a crowd pleaser. All this requires a great MC, BTW.

How about softball against:

The police, the fire department, the DJ's

Chili cookoff.  Get your fire department, police and/or churches involved and work on a split of the profits.  All entrants will pay for ingredients and cook their own.......

Carwash.  This can be done on a Saturday depending on water conditions.....a neat thing we did was to do the washing and have the fire department set up the tower truck as a rinse station......again, partnering you will get a bigger interest.

Beefsteak dinner?  Don't know what it is?  It seems to be an east coast, more specifically, a NJ thing......but here is how it goes.  sliced Beefsteak on a small brick of bread.....Offered at a set price includes soda/beer.......

Google on "beefsteak dinners fundraisers" without the quotes....to get an idea of what this is.

speaking of dinner......spaghetti, pig roast, etc......get imaginative.....how about ham and dandelion?  the leaves, not the flowers.....it is pretty good with a sauce if you know someone who can look up the recipe.

Carnival---this one is labor intensive and lasts the whole week.......the carnies will run the show but it does require some work on the fundraiser to help around.

Just thought of this one:  Advertise around town to offer a cleanup service for a donation.   It may be too successful, so careful on this one.......

The biggest thing is that a motorcycle club sometimes has a bad reputation so you should be an asset to your community.  I am sure you are all in some form professionals......you should push the community involvement that your club is an asset not a bunch of hooligans out to start trouble.  As the community stands behind your club, you will see more turnout from the public.

It is a motorcycle club so have a poker run.  They are a blast and often you can get local businesses to sponsor them if you stop at their place for a card.
