I have a project and i have to show how newton's 3 laws affect water polo. I know what the three laws are, the problem i'm having is trying to get them with water polo, a sport i've only read about.

  1. 1. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.

The ball will float on a point in the water unless an external forve is acted on it. i.e. a wave in the water hits it or a player picks it up.

    2. The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma

The mass of the ball never changes but if the player throws it with a greater acceleration it will exert more force. It will travel faster and be harder to stop.

    3. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction

The ability of the player to float is based on this. The wight of the player will be equal to the reaction of  the water pushing them upwards.

Hope this helps you get a few ideas. Good luck with the project.
