  2. failure to conserve energy means that more energy will have to be produced. Since most of that energy comes from the use of currently non-replaceable fossil fuels we will eventually run out of that resource. In addition to that, the fossil fuels tend to be burnt which puts more pollution into the environment. Each individual has a miniscule effect however since there are estimated to be somewher around 6 to 8 billion people in the world it adds up to quite a bit in a cumulative effect.

  3. Just in general thoughts.

    1) Not conserving energy: By not using renewable resources it is a one way street.We are using coal,oil at an alarming rate.If we recycle say just paper,aluminum,steel,plastics it not only reduces the quantities and fuel to make new products.

    2) Conserving: We conserve by using mass transit,wise water usage,lights,and a host of other things.We use less therefore require less to make.

    I wish I could remember an old native American belief: Give back to the earth twice of what you take.Makes sense to me.
