  1. the golden gloves are a nation wide boxing tournament held in about every decent size city in the country ,where the open class winners advance to state or regional competitions and then the national finals .the tournament is for boxers 16yrs or older ,local competitions also have novice and sub novice for beginners but winners in those classes dont advance past the local level.to be a golden glove boxer, a fighter just needs to fight in the tournament ,win or lose ,open class or novice.the silver gloves are for boxers under 16yrs.

  3. A fighter with 3 or more fights under his or her belt can enter the Golden Glove Tournament. Novice for 3 fights and open for more then 3 fights. Once you win a tournament you are labled as a Golden Glove Champion.
