Question:

How does one adjust the aim of his car's head lights?

well, its my mom's van...'91 toyota previa, just wondering, how exactly do you adjust the aim of the headlights? cause the aim is too high so i wanna bring it back onto the road. how can i do this?

  1. Remove the outer cell of the head light, at 3 o-clock and 6 o-clock you will  see adjusting s***w, the 3 o-clock will move it left or right, the 6 o-clock will move it up and down.

    good luck (do this at night, you can see the direction of light better.


  2. Alot of vehicles have headlamp adjusting screws which you turn to the right, or to the left to move the beam up down, left or right. If you are not comfortable doing it yourself any repair shop can do it for you.

    it is rather simple however I did mine in my garage with the lights off so I saw where the beam was. There are laws that say where your beams need to be aimed though, so make sure you get them in the right area.

  3. one would take the van to a shop that has a headlight alignment machine and pay to have it done properly so it adheres to the specs of the state you live in

  4. you look to the side of and above each head light there will be screws you drive about two cars back from a wall and adjust best done at dark so you can see where lights hit wall you adjust top s***w in to raise out to lower...screws to the side will adjust left to right.... when doing them right side should shine down the line on the road left should cross to the right.. sigthly... and most of the time it dont take but a turn of
