How does one become a Flight Attendant?

Basically I know nothing about being a flight attendant, but I have decent people skills and I go to school near an airport. I figure it might be a nice upgrade job, but I've actually gone into the airport and asked around only to be directed to websites. Those of which were not clear on how to apply anyway. Well any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I can do just about anything with the planes but fuel it, fly it and work FA.  have some knowledge being around FAs and lot helpful info on google to help me study. Flight Atendent Manual, 24Hour Clock, Airport City ,FAR,Confiuration,First Aide,CPR, Grooming, Customer Care and more. This is something I'm also thinking of next.

Unless you happen to live near the corporate headquarters or the Flight Attendant Training center of a major airline, you will have to suffice for looking online.  There are services out there that will help you apply to every airline, but if you can put in the time, go to each site, look for their career section and apply.  A list of some of the information and services are at the bottom.  Unfortunately, right now most are not accepting applications.
