  2. i am a barrel racer my self and you do not have to work at a barn or anything like that i had help from a barrel racer with the fine points but if you could get some books and read and watch others it will help alot. and once you are good at it remember you never stop learning i have been doing it since i could sit up on a horse and i havent quit learning.

  3. Take lessons at a barn that does barrel racing. Work at the barn too, if possible.

    It will be easier to find such a barn if you live in the mid west or south.

    You can start at any age. In fact, the sooner the better!

  4. I ride english but I used to ride western. The best thing to do is find a barn in your area that offers western and start learning the basics of riding (if you are you just starting). You can start barrel racing at any time as long as you feel you are capable of doing it.
