  1. I have a friend who does this for a living. It does take some investment up front. You try to become a full service promoter, meaning you take care of everything for the owners of the venue, for the crafters, and for the customers.

Pick a few places around your state that get good traffic and will give you a package deal on space, electricity, furnishings and rest rooms. Offer to let them have exclusive rights to sell food and refreshments.

Go to small craft fairs and pick up business cards from the crafters who are there. Make a list of clubs and guilds in your area. You should be able to charge $75.00 to $90.00 per table for a 2-day show.

While you're at craft fairs, lurk around the tables and listen to what the customers are asking for.

Pick dates and buy advertising. Advertise in the local newspaper, on the radio, cable tv, as much as you can afford. Ask stores if you can put up fliers.

    Good luck and have fun!
