I've always loooved planning weddings, and themed events, but I have never known where to go to learn, or break into the industry. Is there a college program, or is it all who you know?

  1. You must advirtise in a local or city paper and in free classifieds on the Web in your area or further out-not too far. Put together a portfolio of work done if any. Draw out your plans and what you need to accomplish how much cash you need to get by and then convert your time and services spent into contracts of $$$. Pay deposit then finish payment w/ backed up signed agreement(contract)- keep it all on paper. List your pooled resources which you will use to submit to customer on places outsourced services like band, booze, dress shops, flowers, rental wedding services, special locations. Add up your time (your fee) w/

services offerred to customer and walla--they pay you for the time spent on collaborating this together- if you must put it all together then your time is payed for this too.

  2. Maybe to break into the business, get your stuff together enough to have a booth at a local show.  They are pretty much all over this year..Usually January is the month for June Brides.  But, if you have a car, Peterborough has a show, so probably does Oshawa, Brampton, Pickering, Hamilton.  If you can get into the smaller shows and get some business..good luck
