How does one become an equestrian??

Obviously, you need to get alot of saddle time in.  If no horses are immediately available to you, you might try meeting local ranch owners who may allow you some riding time in exchange for cleaning stables, feeding, watering, brushing, etc .  It's good experience to be close to the horses as much as possible; they'll get to know you, and if they sense that you're friendly, they'll take a liking to you.  Most riders, especially professionals, start riding at a very early age.  If you're considering riding, make some contacts and be willing to roll up your sleeves and work.......you'll probably find yourself enjoying it before long!
