How does one begin the process of trying to find a nanny?

Depends on what you want to pay. If you have money just open your phone book and call a few agencies. You will get the better nanny's this way. If you don't have money and want to pay your nanny below minimum wage you could try free sites like greataupair.com or craigslist....

there are alot of things to0 consider before taking on the right person to look after ur child, Maturity would be one, if u get someone too young how will they handle the pressure of an annoying demanding child? or a screaming baby?, I would ask if they had their own kids and how many and what ages they were, secondly I would be asking if they stillall lived at home, to make sure they werent in care or removed from the mothers care, I would then go to social work and ask them if they are registered as a carer in Britain most carers are registered through social services, if you are looking to take on someone who isnt registered Id be looking to take on a mother! someone with vast experience if registered I would be looking to get references from as many families the person worked for as possible and the reasons as to why they left that family and are now looking for another child to look after, I would also call all the previous families up to check out what they were saying was true hope this helps and good luck and if possible if u could afford it, I would install cctv cams in every room in the house just to make sure ur child isnt being ill treated in any way or I would make out there are cams in every room a good deterrent for any wannabe child smackers!
