  1. When you look in the mirror, don't look for flaws, look at the whole picture.

When you walk, hold your head up and look people in the eye.  Take long strides.  Dress for success.

Write down a list of things you don't like about yourself.  Everyday, look at that list, choose one thing, and take a step, however small, towards changing or improving.  Believe in what you are doing, believe in yourself.

Or, you could use my boyfriend's self esteem remedy: "walk like your daddy owns the place"

In a nutshell, you build your self esteem by being positive, surrounding yourself with positive things and people, and slowly working on those things that gave you a low self esteem in the first place.

    :)

  2. Stop buying into all the BS that people are trying to sell you for starters. You are special just by being you.  Secondly take pride in yourself at all times.  In your appearance, your health, etc... is a reflection of you.  You want people to see your best side.  And lastly the people around you.  You want to have friends that are positive and a good influence.  If you have a negative influence around you it can damage your self-esteem progress.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Know that everyone, including celebrities have things they do not like about themselves as well as things they do like about themselves. Think about your strong and positive attributes. It could be your intelligence (smart is s**y if you use it right), beautiful eyes, hair, or great body. Display all your positive attributes to their utmost while working behind the scenes on the things you don't like. When you feel like your self-esteem is falling, think about all the positive and strong attributes you have and push out those negative thoughts. Just remember confidence draws a crowd and negativity chases them away.

  4. Find what you are good at and keep building on it, Then you can go out and no matter what else you do you'll always have confidence.

  5. Do  Random acts of kindness...  RAK somebody everyday!

  6. Self esteem/confidence are addressed in section 38, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris  Volunteer, even from home, at first, to provide a solid basis in reality for the daily affirmations: "I am a good person, who is valued by my community, because I.. (insert activity here)..". Section 47 refers.  On volunteering outside the home, you will come into contact with supportive people, and receive positive feedback for your efforts, which will be obviously appreciated: there are many options; one is sure to suit you.

Practise one of the relaxation methods on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i, daily, and when needed. Also, give the EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you . Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o at ezy-build  also refer. "Even though I sometimes have low self esteem/self confidence, I deeply and completely accept myself".   Read: "Lift your mood now." by John D Preston, Psy.D. 2001, New Harbinger Publications, Inc., 5674 Shattuck Avenue, Oakland. CA 94609  http://www.amazon.com/ may be worth trying for this, because it approaches the building of self esteem using a different, but equally valid method.

  7. Smile when you look in the mirror.

    :)

  8. Look in the mirror. Find his own great qualities. Don't compare oneself to others, simply to oneself. Kind of like a personal best type deal. Listen to music, find a taste you enjoy. Take up a hobby or sport. Work out. You'll feel better in no time.

  9. Work with elderly people. They love and appreciate everything you do.

  10. believe in yourself

  11. two ways I can think of.

    1. Confidence is something you can just step up and claim. You don't have to wait. Just take it, act like you have it, and you will have it.

    2. Positive experiences. To build up a list of positive experiences, try some things you already know you will succeed at. Then move on to slightly harder things. Keep going in that direction until you have a long list of things you have done well.

    Good luck to you!
