I want to budget for a relocation and I'm planning to tow a trailer with my Subaru Outback, which usually gets about 25 mpg. I want to know how many miles per gallon I'll get when towing up to 2,000 lbs.

  1. how fast will you be driving?

    with or against the wind?

    flat or over hills?

if you get into some kind of emergency going down any significant hill, you're toast.

however, i'm not at all sure you should be towing that much weight.

if you try to stop, you could be in serious trouble.

and when going, it might well be too much strain on the engine and transmission.

are you really prepared to replace your car if you mess it up?

  2. u will probably get around 15 to 18 miles to the gallon. the trl is going to create a drag. my brother moved from lawton,ok back home to arkansas  with his 2000 blazer and he got around 16 mpg but he drove 60mph it was winter time and he a rental uhaul trl and my 99 blazer gets 24.5 without the ac on and pulling a 14foot aluminum boat it drops to 19-20 mpg
