Question:

How does one deal with head rushes?

For those of you who do not know what head rushes are (or call them something else) , its the lose of sight and a weird feeling of disorientation. The normally last only a couple of seconds, but the longest one I've had was about 45 seconds maybe? I believe they are caused by blood rushing to your head, as they are caused when I stand up from sitting down, or lying down for extending periods of time.

Is there a way to control them, or anyone else experience this problem?

  1. This is also known as orthostatic hypotension that occurs when you change position too quickly for your body.  You feel disoriented & "black out" because gravity is causing blood to pool in your lower extremities & your blood pressure drops.  Then your cardiovascular system responds & the episode passes.

Try to change positions slowly.  This should stop the head rushes.

    Also, stay hydrated.

  2. i get those mostly in the summer b.c im dehydrated. but they can be caused by lack of blood flow to the head if u go from a laying postition to a standing postiton quickly, the heart cant compenstate and ur brain begins to go into a panic and causes u to black out momentarily until blood is restored to the brain.

u can control them, for me i have an arhythma that causes them plus dehydration. so drink liquids and if ur feeling dizzy sit down/lay down and wait for it to pass u dont want to pass out and hit ur head on a table or something
