  1. no.  identical twins have the same dna.

now, if they were raised very, very far apart there might be some random mutations that may add insight; for instance using markers the human genome project can tell if someone was raised in africa vs new england.

and there has to be some difference as the twins fingerprints are different, and often a twin may have a mole where the other does not, but science hasn't gotten that far yet

so basically, they'd have to use dna test and other evidence to decide who the father is.

but if you were sleeping with them at the exact same time...

hum.  i wonder what happens then.  this sounds like an opportunity for a great story.

  2. In most cases yes.  In some rare cases identical twins will have matching DNA but that is more on the rare side, usually they can do a match.

  3. NO.  Identical twins (not fraternal) MOST certainly DO have the same DNA and therefore, if they are alleged to be the father of a child, the results of ordinary DNA testing can only determine that neither twin is the father of the child in question or that one of the twins could be the father but it would not be possible through standard DNA testing to determine which twin is the father.

  4. yes they do not have the same dna!

and why would anyone be sleeping with twins...what whorish beahvior, gross!!

  5. Yes, a DNA test can tell.  No 2 people have the exact same DNA...that's what makes us who we are.

  6. Your question is interesting, to say the least.  But, here are some facts to ponder.

From a scientific/genetic point of view, the children of each identical twin are the equivalent of half-siblings rather than cousins.  Meaning, a person working in a lab (basing their conclusion on DNA alone) could not tell the paternity (in your case).  This is because identical twins are the only people in the world that share identical DNA, a.k.a the same “genotype“.

That said,  identical twins do have different “phenotypes”.  This is the way their appearance is expressed in different ways, such as birth marks, weight, and fingerprints.  It’s seems rather silly that a DNA test can not decipher the difference between identical twins, and yet something as trivial as a fingerprint can.  Yet, this does not factor in to your particular question.  So, in conclusion,  there would be NO definitive way to know for sure who the father was if they are indeed identical.

    Hope this helps.....Cool question!

  7. To the first answerer==== YES ALL identical twins have the same dna!!! Duh! This is what makes them identical!!!!

So, in answer to your question, there is no way to tell which of them is the father.
