How does one game become a PS3 Platinum Hit, and sold for $29.99?

It actually depends on how old the game is. such as motorstorm, resistance 1, warhawk, and many other games that came out last year or the year the ps3 launched

In the United States it's called "Greatest Hits" and in Europe they are called "Platinum Hits" and I'll explain both.

In order for a PS3 game to qualify as a Greatest Hits title, it must be on the market for 11 months and sell 500,000 copies or more within that time frame.

A Platinum Hits game in Europe must be on the market for at least a year and sell 400,000 copies in the region within that year.

But, whenever a game actually goes Platinum, that means that it has sold a Million copies.

Simalar to the PS2's greatist hits, the PS3s greatist hits are the same. Once the unit has sold enough it will become one of the greatest hits. It applies to every game as possible. Metal Gear Solid 4's price will lower too soon. Also the game has to be a little bit old. Like at least 8 months or 7. Mostly over a year. And they are very good games that become platinum hit( greatist hits).

I'm not so sure about Platinum, that's what it's called in Europe. In the US, it's the Greatest Hits, and the requirements for a game to be a Greatest are that it must be on the market for at least 11 months and have sold at least 500,000 copies by then.
