I have a great saying for a bumper sticker and don't know how to go about getting it patented and then marketed. Anyone know how to do this? Also, how much does it cost to have an idea patented? Thank you in advance for your help.

  1. You can't patent ideas, you can only patent devices that you've designed

  2. You need to create your idea first.....then you take it and try to have it patented. In my experience in seeing my brother do this with something he was using to teach his class with, we're talking around $600.00 to $ 2,000 and sometimes more. My advice would be to find someone who has the money to help you create the product and would be willing to go in half and half with you. Go for it; anything and everything is possible!!

  3. You need a copyright not a patent here is a link with all the information you need to obtain a copyright http://www.ucsc.edu/matman/BusCon/copyri...

Right away though write down your idea and then mail it to yourself. When you recieve the self-mailed envelope DO NOT OPEN IT. The post mark on the sealed envelope shows proof of when you had the idea in case it is ever questioned.

Next all you have to do is start designing your sticker and sell it. Remember I get to buy one first ♥

  4. Impossible to go to your patent office and fill out and application for only and idea.  Has to be a design that they can investigatge to make sure that no other person living or dead has the same design.

Words, I would say you may be able to "copyright".
