My father in-law has a natural pond on his property that is getting filled up with dead leaves and getting overgrown with tall grass. How does one clean it out so it will look beautiful again? Landscapers are refusing to take on a job like that.

  1. First find out how deep is the pond and where does the water come from.  There is no way to remove the grass but to pull them out.  You may put planks across the pond if the pond is small, then you can to pull out the grass.  you may rake out the leaves from the pond.  If there is water flowing into it, you may try draining the pond so you can work on it easier and really see what is at the bottom of the pond.  .

  2. There may be a pond store in your area (supplies for ornamental ponds), or a landscaper who specializes in water features. You can ask them for references.
