I am taking a Computer Repair & Maintanence course in college. I am wondering how do I go about obtaining the above certifications. I know that in IT CompTia A certification is mandatory for most positions. My college's courses are not covered by those certifications. I would have to go about the exams on my own which really sucks in my case. I would like to know how to get the Microsofts certifications as well. Oh and the prices of these exams would help.

  1. check out the A+ NET+ books in the bookstores. these will give you a healthy grasp on the course content for the tests. You will most likely find, having taken college level courses in the discipline, that the tests aren't expecting anything rocket science.

If you really enjoy networking, look into cisco certs later down the road. tcpmag posted a survey that the average CCNA in the US last year made 72k. I have mine and am currently working towards CCNP and CCIP.

  2. Most IT professionals self study their way to getting these certifications. You can buy books at amazon and also supplement your studies with free study guides and practice exams you will find listed at the website below....

Regarding finding more information about the certifications you would like to do.. You can find many answers here: http://www.certification-exam-help.com/i...
